Welcome Address

It is with great pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility that I extend a warm welcome to all members of the University community, students, staff, researchers, development partners, advocacy groups, and esteemed visitors to the Centre for Disability Studies.

As the Director of the Centre for Disability Studies, I am honoured to welcome you to this inclusive and interdisciplinary centre of the University dedicated to advancing knowledge, advocacy, and support for persons with disabilities through research, education, policy engagement, and community service.

The Centre for Disability Studies plays a critical role in promoting inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities within the University and the wider society. Our work focuses on disability rights, inclusive education, assistive technologies, policy development, and social integration, with the aim of removing barriers and promoting full participation in all aspects of life.

We are committed to excellence in disability research, advocacy, and capacity building. Our activities are guided by principles of equity, inclusiveness, human dignity, and social justice, ensuring that persons with disabilities are empowered and supported to achieve their full potential.

In addition, the Centre collaborates with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, international partners, and disability advocacy groups to develop and implement programmes that promote accessibility, awareness, and inclusive development. We also organize training sessions, workshops, and outreach programmes aimed at strengthening disability inclusion practices.

As you engage with the Centre for Disability Studies, we encourage active participation, collaboration, and commitment to building an inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunity to thrive. We remain dedicated to promoting accessibility, empowerment, and social inclusion.

Thank you for visiting the Centre for Disability Studies. We look forward to working with you in advancing disability inclusion and inclusive development.
